Is it just discoloring? Have you ever used Maguires' Back to Black? I had similar things happen on the Civic and that product brought it back to the proper color.

Did you just create a paradox and now the forum will be sucked into a black hole? AKA Oprah Winfrey's fat mouth...

Piper's car has a little bit... but it is a 2004. I don't think mine has anything (yet).

No, no, no, no. That is not the issue that I have. The issue that i have is actual rust spots on the black (vertical) part, not the white stuff. If you look the white stuff is just some sort of brazing material or something used to join the piece that forms the window track to the frame. it's going to be aluminum colored (white, whatever). I'd have to look at a newer car, but I'd imagine it might have been coated with the same black as the rest of the area, and it just flaked off? You'll pretty much have to deal with it. If it offends you mask it and rattle can it black.
I did some research BTW when i found the rust on mine. The corrosion warranty only covers body panels rusting through. It doesn't cover surface rust anyway.
Pics of my car for reference. Note the rust bubbles BELOW the white thing, that's the real issue on my car.

well i have a feeling that the white strip will lead to rusting. I was gonna use back to black, but why should i? There's something not right with the strip.

regardless, it's surface crap, they're not going to do anything about it after 12/12.
My car has 6 digits on the odo. it's a beater now hence I'll just sand/rattle can the area when I get around to it.

You did notice that it is a separate piece from the strip right? You know that when you have two different types of material they often take paint differently?
Why should you use back to black? Because you are annoyed with the little white strip and it isn't covered under warranty. Reason enough?

I know Jamie and Kim were/are having similar issues. Well Sandy said that it wasn't covered under Warranty I'm kinda dumbfounded as i know there's others with the same issue. SOOO my goal is to try to see how many people have this issue so that i have some ammo next time i go in. Here's what i'm talking about:
A lot of the problems with the windows will be fixed later this month.
