Pretty stealthy, not loud.

Install took a little over an hour due to some rusted bolts.

As you can probably see, it leaks at the front of the midpipe flange where its supposed to connect with the donut gasket. I wasnt sure if the gasket is connected to the other piece? and didnt want to break anything as I had no replacements at 10pm last night. I tried to tighten it down way too much to try and get it over the donut but that didnt work :( so it's being driven with the leak for now.

I hate those donut gaskets. Exhaust looks pretty good.

BTW, Happy Birthday :)

Thanks! I'm getting old now right?

Can you just pry the gasket off somehow and clean to get better fitment or do I need a new one?

usually with exhaust gaskets, you buy a new one....once they go...they usually aren't 'repairable'

Unfortunately unless you are VERY careful with those gaskets, you can crush them apart when trying to pry/lever them off of flanges. When you use a flathead or other wedge/pry device to get them off they have a tendency to be stuck on the flat side you pry against and you end up crushing and damaging the gasket. I would suggest getting a new one as that one is probablly worn in the coned area anyway and thats why you aren't getting a conplete seal. ;)

+1. Why even bother recovering it? Just replace it.

And by the way, nice job picking what's probably the most stable / reliable forced induction car on the market. Jamie's going to come in here busting my balls pretty soon but I've got respect for the WRX -- right size, fairly priced, solid workhorse performers, and good lookin' in a subtle though weirdly charming grow-on-you sort of way.

Think Meg. lol
